Exam configuration is a global setting done for the respective academic year. It is used to configure number of tests and terms of your school, where you can configure how many test/term school will conduct in current academic session. Along with configuring the test and term, user can take the combination aggregate of test and term and arise at the total score after each term exam and final/ overall grade. The configuration menu does not restrict different school's in configuring respective academic exam details.

 

Step to follow ;-

Step 1 :- Go to Grading System, Click on Exam Configuration menu.


Once you click on Exam Configuration menu, Exam configuration will be opened.

Step 2 :- Once you click on Add button, Add/Edit Exam Configuration  will be shown as below.

 

In Configuration Tab:

By default, software will display the configured Test Name as “FA”, Test No. as “4”, Term Name as “SA”, and Term No. as “2”. This configuration is editable, as the user configure , the respective number of test and term will be displayed in other modules of Grading System where test and term selection is provided.

How to edit Open office files.

Example for Grade 1

In configuration tab :

It will show in Subject marks menu with same test (/term) name and number.

Example: For Grade Nursery;-

In configuration section;-

It will show in Subject marks with same name and number.


Select Term one Attendance date and Term two Attendance date.

We assume that the school provide attendance percentage for respective terms . If the school uses Daily Attendance then the user can specify from Academic year profile from date to which date the   Term I attendance has to be calculated and till which date the Term II attendance is considered.

 

Define the start and end date for Term I and Term II. This will be useful for calculating and displaying the student's attendance per Term in the Student Report Card.

 

Example; - If you enter Term I attendance date as “01/04/2016” & Term II attendance date as “01/10/2017”.


For Term I Attendance is considered from 1/04/2016 and for Term 2 it will consider from 01/10/2016.

 

Enter Test report Card name, Term report Card name and Consolidated Report Card Name. By default, file name for test report card will be “reportcardFA” , Term report Card name will be  “reportcardSA” and Consolidated Report Card Name as “consolidatedReportCard”.

 

 If the school uses different exam configuration for different grade level, the user can have the formats saved in open office and provide the respective file name created for the respective grade. By this configuration, when the user generates marks card, the software will fetch the respective file with the name configured in Exam configuration menu.

Select Grade where you want to assign overall configuration to class.

 

 

 

In Exam One/ Exam Two/ Exam Three/ Exam Four/ Exam Five Tab:

In CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation), they take test named as Formative Assessment (FA) and term named as Summative  Assessment (SA). There are two terms in an academic year. In TERM I which is the first session of the academic year 2 tests (FA1 and FA2) and 1 exam (SA1) will be conducted. Similarly, in the TERM II which is the second session of the academic year 2 tests (FA3 and FA4) and 1 exam (SA2) will be conducted. So in an year 4 tests (FA) and 2 exams (SA) will be conducted.

 

In the final report card certain percentage of marks are considered from each and every test and exam to generate a consolidated report card.

 

EXAM ONE:

Exam one tab is used for configuring the TERM I.

Enter the Exam name as TERM I.

Enter the percentage of marks considered for the final consolidated report card. For each subject, specified percentage of marks in two FA and SA1 is converted to a scale of  100 and corresponding grade is displayed in the report card.

For the consolidated report card they calculate 40 % from every test subject and 60 % from every exam.Here, from FA1 and FA2 we are considering 10% of marks (Maximum marks of 25) and  from SA1 we are considering 30% of marks (Maximum marks of 50) and we are converting it to a scale of 100 in order to display the corresponding grade in the report card.


EXAM TWO:

Exam two tab is used for configuring the TERM II.

Enter the Exam name as TERM II.

 In Test3 and Test4 fields, enter the percentage of marks considered for the final consolidated report card. For each subject, specified percentage of marks in two FA (FA1 and FA2) and SA2 is converted to a scale of  100 and corresponding grade is displayed in the report card.

From FA3 and FA4 we are considering 10% of marks (Maximum marks of 25) and  from SA2 we are considering 30% of marks (Maximum marks of 50) and we are converting it to a scale of 100 in order to display the corresponding grade in the report card.


EXAM THREE:

Exam three tab is used for configuring the overall Formative Assessment (FA) marks.

Here, we are calculating marks scored in a subject by the student in all the 4 Formative Assessments (FA). We are considering a certain percentage of marks from every test and we consolidating it to 100 then displaying as a grade.

Enter the percentage of marks for calculating the the overall Formative Assessment (FA) grades in all the subjects. This percentage should be same as what you have entered in the Test % field while configuring the EXAM ONE and EXAM TWO.

In our example, we are considering 10% from each of the 4 Formative assessments.


EXAM FOUR:

Exam four tab is used for configuring the overall Summative Assessment (SA) marks.

Here, we are calculating marks scored in a subject by the student in both the Summative Assessments (SA). That is SA1 + SA2. We are considering a certain percentage of marks from every term in order to  consolidate it to 100 then display it as a grade.

Enter the percentage of marks for calculating the the overall Summative Assessments (SA) grades in all the subjects. This percentage should be same as what you have entered in the Term Percentage % field while configuring the EXAM ONE and EXAM TWO.

In our example, we are considering 30% from both Summative Assessments (SA).

       

  EXAM FIVE:

Exam five tab is used for configuring the overall Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA) marks and displaying as grades instead of marks.

Note: - In number of subject you can enter only Part A subject, then it will display accurate results otherwise it will consider all the subjects (Part A and Part B).

Enter Exam name (CGPA) and Check on Exam Overall Grade   and Enter number of subjects (only total number of Part A subject). Enter Test Percentage and Term Percentage. It will show like below dialog;-

 

 

After defining all exam tab your consolidated student report card will be show like below;-
